SPRINGBOARD PILATES Therapy in Clifton,New Jersey

What is Pilates Physical Therapy ?

The springboard is a wall mounted piece of equipment that gives you the perfect platform for performing Pilates exercises. This unique tool comes complete with springs, handles, foot straps and more! The board itself offers 20 inches wide across by 6 feet tall to give you plenty of space. Along the side there are 10 pairs of eyebolts where you can attach your various lengths and tension springs in order to create an adjustable resistance level which will help increase muscle tone throughout all parts of your body as well as improve balance!

How can a Pilates Springboard Exercise help me when I need Physical Therapy?

At Physical Therapy Clifton you will be introduced to many different types of therapies that we offer. We provide a variety of exercises but these are not the only things we do! We also have our Pilates Springboard for locomotive exercise purposes; this is where patients can gain or regain movement they've lost in their lower extremities through specific manual therapy techniques and therapeutic programs.

The Springboard Pilates program at CliftonPT&Rehab teaches clients how to become more mindful of their body and muscles through a combination of therapeutic exercises, corrective movements, equipment training, muscle re - education and breathing.

Our physical therapy plus Pilates Springboard combination at CliftonPT&Rehab approach will:

  • Eliminate pain at the source
  • Enable the body through proper function and stability to get fit and stronger
  • Increase joint mobility
  • Increase ligament and muscular flexibility
  • Improve health and circulation to tissue and muscles
  • Improve posture
  • Increase body awareness
  • Help restore natural alignments
  • Eliminate poor tendencies that have led to slouching and stiffness
  • Reduce probability of sustaining later injuries
  • Help prevent Injuries
  • Increase ergonomic awareness
  • Shorten recovery time

Unique features Pilates Springboard Springs vs. Pilates Reformer:

- Independent activation and specification for each limb of your body enabling it to correctly and individually test proper weight bearing and function

- The springs are higher on the Springboard than on a Reformer and are placed behind or in front of the body instead of below it:

This affects how much pull there is from each spring. The combination of this more stable setting with individualized exercises makes therapy focused for strengthening, limb activation, exercise practices specific to your needs; thoroughly testing everything you need out so that all limbs work properly under their own weight without any pain!
